I'm a retired prof from Durham Uni and this year's Buckland Prof (promotes fisheries, their management and conservation)...
There is a free Buckland public lecture event and Q&A at Durham Uni on 9 Dec at 13.00 -
very easy to get to by public transport, the lecture room is close to a bus stop, served from the rail station at Durham. There is also a nearby Park and Ride car park with bus service.
The event is intended NOT to be too scientific, but instead to be stimulating and fun and accessible to a wide audience... including naturalists, anglers, those with an interest in our rivers.
