Pink Salmon Warning

Members have recently reported catches of Pink Salmon. This is an invasive species that should be humanely dispatched when caught and reported to a club official.

The picture above shows a Pink Salmon recently caught in CDAC waters. Please note these fish are inedible and more quickly undergo bodily change or 'colour' up when entering fresh water, relative to our native Atlantic Salmon.

For more information please download this leaflet below, from the Environment Agency. It is speculated that the origin of the Pink Salmon in local rivers is related to Russian stocking of Baltic rivers in the 1960s.
