Cocken Rockfall & Bankside Works

Yesterday, a 6 strong work party cleared cracked willows from the Cocken Farm beat. Also, the third recent rockfall at Cocken Drift, upstream of farm waters, has made the area dangerous to pass.

The work party removed a cracked willow that was lying half way across the river at Cocken Farm and felled two other boughs of the same tree that were destined to follow it and could have presented a danger to anglers.

The club has also made Durham County Council aware of the rock problem at Cocken Drift.
